Institute for Human Rights and Democracy is an international organisation committed to promote human rights and participatory process and support efforts in reducing vulnerability. The main objectives of the Institute include
- Provide technical assistance in supporting civil society and public institutions in realisation of international human rights standards and principles
- Promote good governance and accountability to ensure objectives of development through rights based approach
- Undertake advocacy initiatives for rights of women, children, minorities and other vulnerable groups
- Assist in promoting participatory political and development processes in conflict and transition societies to ensure equitable access to resources and participation in decision making
- Conduct missions to assess human rights situation and humanitarian needs and propose recommendations to address protection concerns
- Engage in promoting dialogue for promoting peace and post-conflict institution building
- Provide training and development opportunities and conduct policy research issues of democracy and human rights
